If they reproduce its very easily controlled as they lay their eggs above the water line so can easily be removed and controlled.
Snails will be approx a couple of months old which is around 1-2cm, younger snails acclimatise more easily to their new surroundings plus its also great to watch them grow as within a few months they will be fully grown.
